“Creating patient-specific 3D prints for surgical planning”
Patient-specific 3D printing enables to reduce surgery time, as well as costs and risks induced by the intervention. Mirrakoi has come up with a software solution – Rhino3DMedical – that allows to print 3D models directly from imaging scans. The start-up’s solution requires no technical training nor additional learning curve, and can be quickly integrated in hospitals thanks to easy-to-adopt workflows.
Developed together with surgeons, Rhino3DMedical finds applications in orthopaedic and craniomaxillofacial surgery. Mirrakoi is currently setting clinical proof-of-concept projects and providing a Beta-version of its technology to several healthcare institutions around the world.
On-going support since Mirrakoi’s inception
Even before its incorporation, Mirrakoi received an Innogrant in 2017. After incorporating in January 2018, the start-up received a EU Horizon 2020 SME grant, followed by an InnoBooster grant from Gerbert-Rüf foundation in October 2018 and a Tech Seed loan from Foundation for technological innovation (FIT) in December 2018. The same year, Mirrakoi also entered the TOP100 Swiss start-ups.
In 2019, Mirrakoi was part of 10 start-ups going to the Silicon Valley as part of Venture Leaders Technology.
In 2021, the medtech start-up received the “Fondation Dalle Molle Award” as a recognition for the capacity of its software to improve the quality of life.
In early 2022, Mirrakoi was selected to take part in the Israeli-Swiss Lean Launchpad program to explore the country while seeking collaboration and funding opportunities. In July 2022, entered the Sitem Startup Startup Club MedTech Booster Program in Bern.
This September, Mirrakoi is also taking part to InnoSuisse’s Internationalisation Camp in South Korea.
