SWISS Pavilion: 13 start-up vaudoises au CES 2019

The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 is soon going to open its doors in Las Vegas. Gathering almost 180’000 attendees from 150 countries, the fair is a major springboard for ambitious startups, including the ones exhibiting at the SWISS Pavilion in January 2019. Over 1100 startups that used CES as a platform to showcase their products have been funded so far.

The SWISS Pavilion, set up by Presence Switzerland and S-GE with partners including Innovaud, aims to present some of the latest Swiss made technologies to the US market. “The CES Show exists since 1967 but never with an official presence of Switzerland. As a high-class innovation country, having a Swiss pavilion was obvious for Western Switzerland personalities, who asked S-GE and Presence Switzerland to set up a booth”. Innovaud joined the partners’ list to support the Vaud startups, particularly their preparation for the event with a 2 days Sales Pitch Training with Nexthink co-founder Vincent Bieri.

A thorough preparation for an impactful pitch

“For many young Swiss startups such as FOLDAWAY Haptics (EPFL), the CES show is crucial to gain visibility at the international level”, says Patrick Barbey, Director of Innovaud. “This is the reason why we joined efforts with S-GE to prepare them for their best pitch to make impact”. Together with the pitch training organized in November 2018 with Vincent Bieri (the co-founder of Nexthink, which recently raised 85 million dollars), the startups will benefit from a one-day preparation bootcamp on site to pitch on the SWISS Pavilion’ stage to future US investors, customers and partners (on January 8, 2019). “These joint efforts to prepare the startups represent an important value chain in both our organizations’ mission to support and promote Swiss startups at the international level”, concludes Sylvain Jaccard of S-GE.

And the participating Swiss startups are…

The selection of the Swiss startups part of the SWISS Pavilion have started in 2018, leading to their participation in three main categories: “The Startups”, comprising 21 companies who will present their latest developments, 18 in the category “Swiss Volière” that specialize in drones and 6 under the name “Be part of it” (including 2 Scale Up Vaud companies, Bestmile and Green Motion):
