VAUD ECONOMIC MISSION TO INDIA, 5-10 OCTOBER 2025

Between the 5th and 10th of October 2025, Innovaud in collaboration with Switzerland Global Enterprise and the Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce will organize an economic mission to India. It will be led by Mrs. Isabelle Moret, state minister for economic affairs of the canton of Vaud.

This unique opportunity will allow participants to explore India and offers unprecedented access to key decision makers from local and international companies, as well as representatives of the state and national governments. The mission will mainly focus on the life sciences and aerospace industries.

ONE WEEK, THREE INDIAN CITIES AND COUNTLESS CONNECTIONS

Through the success of the Swiss-Indian Innovation Week, held in September 2024, we were able to create valuable and lasting connections between our local ecosystem and India. The mission will therefore be facilitated by partners in the private and public sectors, both in Switzerland and in India. Concretely, the cities of Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru will be visited, and participants will be able to interact with Swiss and Indian business leaders and government officials with a wide range of experience and expertise.

FOR THOSE SEEKING GROWTH AND NEW PARTNERSHIPS

This economic mission has been developed for entrepreneurs and business leaders who are interested in diversifying their access to foreign markets and finding partners to develop new or existing products and services. The mission is particularly interesting to companies active in the life sciences and aerospace industries.

SWISS-INDIAN TRADE AND RELATIONS IN THE SPOTLIGHT

In March 2024, the countries of the European Free Trade Association, including Switzerland, signed TEPA, an extensive free trade agreement, with India. This milestone treaty will ensure that close to 95% of Swiss exports to India will benefit from customs relief. Importantly for investors, TEPA includes significant provisions for the protection of intellectual property, to an even higher level than passed WTO agreements.

Bilateral trade is forecasted to reach USD 25 billion in 2025 and India is now Switzerland’s seventh largest trading partner. Additionally, some 100 Indian companies and 330 Swiss companies employ 4,000 and 100,000 people in the other country, respectively.

This economic mission echoes also the success of the Swiss-Indian Innovation Week organized by Innovaud in September 2024.
